South Sudan KAP Survey

UNFPA

Bodhi conducted a Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) survey on gender-based violence (GBV) in Upper Nile, Unity, and Jonglei states, as well as the Greater Pibor Administrative Area in South Sudan. This survey aimed to inform UNFPA's multi-annual programmatic strategy by obtaining general information on the knowledge, beliefs, and practices regarding GBV in these regions. The survey was supplemented by key informant interviews and focus group discussions to triangulate the results. Bodhi adopted a gender-sensitive approach, mainstreaming women’s and gender-based issues and complying with feminist research principles through a participatory research approach. The primary goal was to provide insights into gender norms, roles, and responsibilities, social inclusion, and the differentiated impacts of climate change and conflict on various social groups.
