Bodhi Global Analysis was contracted by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to undertake a peace and conflict analysis of the Amhara region. The overall aim of the research was to analyse historical and current conflict trends and dynamics, drivers of conflict and opportunities for peace, as well as to identify key conflict and peace actors, in order to inform context- and conflict-sensitive, as well as peace responsive programming in the region. The analysis used primarily qualitative research methods, including a review of existing secondary data and the collection of primary data through Key Informant Interviews (KIIs). A total of five KIIs were conducted with GIZ staff and international and local NGO representatives.
