Bodhi conducted a gender- and conflict-sensitive baseline assessment of Mercy Corps' Broadening Emergency and Graduation Efforts (BEGE) programme in Nigeria, funded by the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance. The BEGE programme aims to deliver lifesaving, life-sustaining interventions and enhance the adaptation of displaced, returnee, and host households to shocks and systemic constraints within Borno State. The assessment took a mixed-methods approach, collecting both quantitative and qualitative data through a household survey, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and a desk review of program documents. Collection of qualitative data took place across the five local government areas of Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Konduga, and Monguno. Building on our gender- and conflict-sensitive approach, we designed baseline values for outlined indicators, identified important contextual information and lessons, and provided recommendations for future programming.
