Bodhi was commissioned by Plan International to conduct a Political Economic Analysis for the Right to Play (RTP) programme in 13 across Asia, Southern, Eastern, and West Africa, and theMiddle East. The objective of this analysis was to determine the political, economic, and sector-related factors that should influence RTP's work in the region, particularly within early years and primary education, psychosocial support, gender, and climate adaptation and resilience sectors. The PEA focused on four sectors of relevance to RTP’s work in each cregion: education and play-based learning (primary/secondary only, gender lens), mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), gender equality, and climate adaptation, with a cross-cutting focus on children and youth. Gender was considered in its own right as well as across the other sectors, ensuring the PEA was gender-sensitive and intersectional. Bodhi conducted an initial desk review and collected primary data through 65 key informant interviews (5 in each ountry) to substantiate and triangulate findings from the desk review and fill the data gaps identified. Bodhi aims to conduct 65 KIIs (5 for each country).
