Bodhi conducted research examining the intersection between climate change and security dynamics in the Garissa-Afmadow border region between Kenya and Somalia. The study analyzed how climate stresses interact with evolving security landscapes and pastoral mobility patterns, particularly regarding resource competition and access across clan and national boundaries. Through mixed-methods research focused on Afmadow district in Somalia and Liboi and Jarajila sub-counties in Kenya, the study generated new insights into climate-security dynamics in this understudied yet strategically significant border region, providing evidence-based recommendations for climate adaptation and conflict prevention strategies.
