Rapid Conflict and Baseline Assessment and Mapping of Stakeholders and Referral Pathways for Victims of Religious Violence

Search for Common Ground

Bodhi conducted a two-part study for Search for Common Ground Nigeria, comprising a conflict assessment and a baseline study of religious-based conflict in Nigeria. The assessment’s objectives were to explain the nature, drivers, and impact of religious-based conflict nationally and within in each of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, collect baseline data against five key indicators, identify key learnings from past religious conflict assessments, and set out clear, evidence-based, and actionable recommendations to Search for Common Ground. It relied primarily on qualitative research methods including a literature review and key informant interviews, with a stratified sampling approach across geopolitical zones and selected states. This study supported Search’s ability to implement projects that empower actors to prevent and address conflicts along religious lines and advance Freedom of Religion and Belief in Nigeria.
