Bodhi conducted a rigorous study for Brot für die Welt (BfdW) to support the pre-planning process for a potential new Civil Peace Service (CPS) programme in the Horn of Africa, focusing on Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan. Bodhi analysed regional and national conflict dynamics, examined peacebuilding approaches and opportunities with a focus on women and youth inclusion, and identified potential local civil society partnerships. This comprehensive research aimed to inform BfdW's objective of developing a Civil Peace Service (CPS) programme in the region. The study provided strategic insights to guide BfdW's engagement in peacebuilding efforts across these complex and interconnected conflict environments. The methodology relied on qualitative research methods, including a review of secondary data, and primary data collection through key informant interviews, with a comprehensive mapping of civil society organisations conducted to identify potential partners.
