Gender Analysis/Assessment and Gender Mainstreaming Strategy South Sudan

Welthungerhilfe

Bodhi conducted a robust, mixed-methods gender assessment of five selected projects for Welthungerhilfe's (WHH) programming in South Sudan. The purpose of the assessment was to evaluate the gender responsiveness of these projects across Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Eastern Equatoria, and Unity States, identify good practices, and provide recommendations for improving gender mainstreaming within the project frameworks. Bodhi developed a comprehensive, effective, and cost-efficient Gender Mainstreaming Strategy to enhance WHH's work in the country. The study contributed to WHH's understanding of how well gender considerations are integrated into their programming and offered actionable recommendations to improve the same. Bodhi took a qualitative approach to the assessment, with primary data collection through key informant interviews, small group discussions, and focus group discussions, supplemented by a Gender-Transformative Accelerator Workshop and desk-based research.
