Bodhi conducted a series of high-quality Political Economy Analyses (PEAs) for Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. These analyses aimed to inform the design and implementation of BRAC International's and the Mastercard Foundation's 'Accelerating Impact for Young Women' (AIM) programme. The AIM programme focused on supporting the social empowerment and economic development of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW). Primary data was collected in the form of key informant interviews. The PEAs focused on five cross-cutting and overlapping sectors of relevance to AGYW empowerment: health, education, financial inclusion, youth empowerment, and poverty reduction. The analysis assessed the ‘lay of the land’ in each sector to identify key policy gaps and opportunities for AGYW empowerment related to and within each sector. Bodhi also conducted stakeholder mapping and analysis and governance analysis to identify key stakeholders, enablers, resistors, and barriers relevant to AGYW's empowerment.
