Bodhi conducted the summative evaluation of UNICEF's 'Advancing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, particularly Women and Children with Disabilities' programme in The Gambia. This programme, implemented in partnership with UNFPA and funded by the UN Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Multi-Partner Trust Fund (UNPRPD-MPTF), aimed to enhance the inclusion and rights of persons with disabilities by strengthening national frameworks and systems. The evaluation focused on gender, equity, and human rights. Data collection included KIIs, FGDs and a quantitative survey. A total of fourteen KIIs were conducted in-person and remotely to maximise participation. For FGDs, a total of 28 in-person discussions were held with direct and indirect programme participants across Brikama, Kerewan, Basse, Janjabureh, Kuntaur, Mansa Konko, and Banjul. In addition, 63 online surveys were collected by the Bodhi team. Findings aimed to guide future disability-inclusive programming and policies, supporting the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and advancing disability-inclusive Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
