Bodhi carried out the summative evaluation of UNICEF's 'Advancing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, particularly Women and Children with Disabilities' programme in The Gambia. The programme was delivered in partnership with UNFPA and was funded by the UN Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Multi-Partner Trust Fund (UNPRPD-MPTF). The objective of the programme was to improve the inclusion and rights of persons with disabilities through the strengthening of national frameworks and systems. The evaluation was conducted with a gender, equity and human rights lens. Data collection was via KIIs, FGDs and a quantitative survey. A total of 28 KIIs were conducted (14 in person and 14 remotely) to ensure maximum participation. A total of 28 FGDs were conducted in person with direct and indirect programme participants across Brikama, Kerewan, Basse, Janjabureh, Kuntaur, Mansa Konko and Banjul. A further online survey was conducted by the Bodhi team. The findings will inform future disability inclusive programming and policy and will support the implementation of the CRPD and the advancement of disability inclusive SDGs.
