Bodhi carried out the endline evaluation of the Save Her Seat project for Right to Play in Tanzania. The Save Her Seat project (April 2023 to March 2026) was a three year project funded by the FCDO and the Liverpool FC Foundation. It was designed to promote gender equality and improve learning outcomes for girls in grades 5-7 in 40 primary schools in Tarime and Serengeti districts in the Mara region. The project targeted over 4,800 girls (approx. 12-15 years of age) and sought to reduce the barriers to girls' school engagement through a range of interventions including life skills and SRHR knowledge, creating gender-responsive and safe learning environments and increasing community engagement to challenge harmful gender norms. The evaluation used a mixed methods design with an intersectional gender lens and included both quantitative tools (life skills assessment, child survey, classroom observation and school records review) and qualitative methods (KII with teachers, parents, school administrators and education officials; FGDs with teachers, parents/caregivers and children including those with disabilities).
