Bodhi conducted a study to examine the links between climate-related and hydrometeorological hazards and local-level conflict in South Sudan for thr IOM. The study supported the Enhancing Community Resilience and Local Governance (ECRP) project, funded by the World Bank and implemented by IOM, which aims to improve access to climate-resilient community infrastructure and services in South Sudan, focusing on counties vulnerable to and affected by climate change. The purpose of the study was to provide evidence-based contextualised insights on the link between climate change and conflict by assessing their impacts on communities and their ability to cope, adapt, and manage climate and conflict risks. It adopted a mixed-methods approach, utilising open-source datasets and geospatial data for quantitative analysis, and a desk-based document review, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions for qualitative data collection.
