Bodhi has been contracted by the UNICEF Nepal Country Office to conduct an evidence synthesis to inform the development of the 2028 to 2032 UNICEF Nepal Country Programme Document. The evidence synthesis is a comprehensive, child rights-based analysis that consolidates existing evidence, examines deprivations, identifies bottlenecks and informs the prioritisation that drives subsequent stages of country programme design. The purpose of this assignment is to consolidate and synthesise existing evidence on the situation of children and adolescents in Nepal, with an explicit focus on gender equality and intersecting inequalities. Bodhi will deliver five products as part of the evidence synthesis: an updated Situation Analysis at national and provincial level; a thematic synthesis on climate change and children, anchored in CLAC; a thematic synthesis on federalism and child rights; a thematic synthesis on early childhood development (ECD) for children aged 0 to 8 years across the domains of health, nutrition, early learning, safety and protection, and responsive care; and a thematic synthesis on youth engagement, skills, employability and livelihoods, covering the school-to-work transition, skills-to-employer alignment, and policy entry points to reduce structural dependence on migration.
