Bodhi undertook the 'East Africa Fund Evaluation: Restoring Livelihoods Amidst Climate Change and Conflict' for Swiss Solidarity. The evaluation provided an objective and independent assessment of the livelihood and food security recovery projects funded by Swiss Solidarity in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. A total of 32 projects received funding, and Swiss Solidarity partner NGOs implemented these projects either directly, in collaboration with local partners, or through mixed modalities. The evaluation focused on projects that aim to restore livelihoods and re-establish food security for the affected people. In total, 68 documents were reviewed, 44 KIIs and 16 FGDs were conducted, and 1,395 quantitative surveys were completed with project participants. The evaluation team analysed the quantitative data using Python. Ultimately, this evaluation aimed to help shape future interventions to be more effective, context-specific, and better aligned with the needs and preferences of the affected people. Bodhi used a robust, mixed-methods approach to thoroughly evaluate the effectiveness, relevance, and economic sustainability of livelihood and food security recovery activities funded by Swiss Solidarity in Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya.
