Bodhi has been contracted by Cord to conduct the qualitative case study on applied peacebuilding under the Strengthening Accountable Business Practices through Respect and Engagement (SABRE) programme in Cambodia. SABRE is a European Union (EU) funded programme implemented by Cord and local partners in Cambodia since 2024. It aims to strengthen responsible business practices and accountability in extractive industries and natural resource management, where land disputes, weak governance, and human rights risks affect communities and HRDs. This case study will examine how SABRE-supported HRDs apply these tools in practice, and how this contributes to stronger accountability, conflict risk management, and sustained engagement. It will also explore how HRDs build confidence and capacity over time.
