Livia is a peacebuilding practitioner and political scientist with over eight years of experience working at the intersection of conflict resolution, gender equality, and inclusive learning. She specialises in applied research and MEL, including gender-transformative and inclusion-focused approaches that centre the lived experiences of conflict-affected communities. Livia has advised INGOs, donors, and multilateral organisations on strategy, learning, and evaluation, supporting the design and implementation of participatory, locally led methodologies.
Her technical expertise spans feminist and complexity-aware approaches, community-defined indicators, and adaptive MEL systems that bridge evidence and practice. She brings extensive field experience across East and Central Africa, particularly in the Horn of Africa, and has lived and worked in Switzerland, Denmark, Australia, Singapore, Brussels, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka. Livia holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen, where her research focused on autonomy arrangements and the resolution of self-determination conflicts.
